Factory Insulated Panels

We are now able to offer our clients pre insulated panels which arrive at site with 120mm TW55 Kingspan pre fitted. This will typically achieve a U value of 0.2 W/m2.K View the KingSpan Flyer for more information.

Below are a series of photographs which demonstrate the advantages of using this system.

Metal clips are fitted over all studs before inserting the insulation, this keeps the Kingspan tight to the OSB and maintains a 20mm air/service void on the inner face of the panel.

Nylon starps are also fitted to the panel prior to the insulation, these are used to safely place the panels on site using a crane. Once in position the straps are cut off and discarded.

A major benefit of having the insulation factory fitted is the accuracy with which it is cut and installed, because it is a controlled environment and all Kingspan is machine cut, we are able to fit all the insulation without the need for expanding foam to fill gaps left by inaccurate cuts, which can often be seen when site fitted.

The next stage is to fit the OSB sheathing to the outer face, which then has the breather membrane applied. The black tape indicates stud positions to assist the brick layer when fixing brick ties back to the frame.
