With an experienced in house CAD design team using the latest in 3D modelling software and our own structural engineer, Southern Timber Frame can quickly and accurately turn your construction plans into timber frame components.

STF quality procedures

Our engineer will produce line and point loads to enable the design of the foundations, and all details are discussed with your architect and consulting engineer. A soleplate layout is produced and sent to you for approval, enabling the groundworks and ground floor slab to be detailed.

Wall and floor layouts at all levels are produced along with roof details and sections and sent to you for approval.

Drawing Issue Register

A Drawing Issue Register showing any amendments, accompanies all drawings/layouts that are sent out. When all layouts and details are approved, calculations are produced for Local Authority and Consulting Engineer approval and retention

From design to production

Upon approval, wall and floor panel drawings are run for production and any special products such as laminated beams and steel work, and bought in items such as roof trusses are then ordered.
